At 02-05th May, 2007 College of Social Sciences organized the expedition track Klaipeda-Kaliningrad-Klaipeda. Together with history and languages lecturers were picked out germanic borrowings which are used in Lithuanian and Polish languages. Using selected words was prepared questionnaire which was used for the research how much people are using germanic borrowings in spoken language.
05.03-04.2007 days members of the expedition separated into few groups and visited secondary schools, lyceum and gymnasium of the Kaliningrad city.
At the meetings were presented College of Social Sciences, project activities, program which finances the project, and initiatives to stimulate the fellowship between Kaliningrad and Lithuania. Also for the students whose speaks Lithuanian was given prepared questionnaire or orally quiz to clear out how many of them are using Germanic borrowings.
During the expedition Lecturers of College met representatives of the Lithuania society: teacher, which well speaks Lithuanian and cultural attaché Arvydas Juozaitis general consul of Lithuania for the Russian Federation region. They live in the Konisgberg region and can see from close the biggest changes which are happening in the Minor's Lithuania or in east Prussian. At the meeting was discussed situation of lithuanians in Kaliningrad city, their reach to save Lithuanian culture and language and cultural heritage of Minor’s Lithuania. Also was discussed the fellowship with lithuanians organizations.
The members of the expedition’s also visited and researched old places of the Kaliningrad city. They were interested in history, collected information which is related with the project, searched interfaces between the culture of this region and Lithuania.
Worker’s of the college were glad about the expedition and possibility to know Kaliningrad. Their admired architecture of the Konnigsberg and people’s ability to save and preserve the old culture and their heritage.
